Jason (Jase) McCarty is a Senior vSpecialist for EMC Corporation focusing on Virtualization and Storage in the U.S. Federal Government and Public Sector.
Prior to joining EMC, Jase worked for 5 1/2 years at an Internet lending company, as a Senior Systems Engineer and Architect, where he managed hundreds of hosted systems for banks, credit unions, and other financial institutions. Prior to that, Jase worked in the Health Insurance industry for 5 years as a Systems Engineer, Application Engineer, and Account Manager. Before joining the ranks of the private sector, Jase worked at The University of Southern Mississippi for the Mississippi Department of Education managing of a statewide technology program.
Jase has been a member of the Air National Guard for over 22 years. In that time, he has worked as an Avionics Technician and a Computer Systems Technician. He is a recipient of the Air Force Commendation Medal and the Air Force Achievement Medal. He currently holds the rank of Master Sergeant, managing infrastructure operations.
In conjunction with his professional and military careers, Jase has also worked as an Adjunct Instructor at Tulane University College and the University of Phoenix, focusing on Information Technology topics including systems, applications, and electronic business.
He is a co-author of two books on VMware virtualization technologies and a three time recipient of the VMware vExpert designation.
Jase holds a Master of Science in Engineering Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Electronic Engineering Technology from the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS.
